Biography

Carolyn Taylor is one of the world’s foremost experts in organisational culture and the Founder of Walking the Talk. During her 30 years in the field, Carolyn has run workshops with well over 200,000 leaders, worked alongside 200 culture change journeys, consulted on 20 mergers & acquisitions, coached over 100 CEOs, and worked in 35 countries. She has built deep experience with which to advise on what works and what doesn’t when their goal is to shape and change culture.

Her career was enhanced by the success of her book Walking the Talk: Building a Culture Success which has become a long-time best seller for those who want a practical guide on how to lead, manage and support culture. Her profile has been increased by her podcast Walking your Talk and her most recent book Accountability @Work.

Carolyn chairs Walking the Talk, a specialist culture consulting company which operates all over the world with clients who are seeking to better align their culture to their emerging strategic imperatives. Founded in 2009 and recently acquired by US talent solutions firm ZRG Partners, Walking the Talk has integrated culture management system – diagnostic, planning and training tools – to enable companies to capitalise on their culture and to build internal capability to lead it. Walking the Talk’s mission is to make culture do-able, so that organisations can achieve extraordinary results because of the behaviours and mindsets of their people. Carolyn herself has worked with executive teams in many leading organisations including BT, Sanofi, PMI, Vale, Itau-Unibanco, Kyndryl, Westpac, Rio Tinto, GE and Google.

Carolyn is known for her ability to demonstrate links between strategy, culture, team alignment and leadership behaviour, facilitating activities with teams that are insightful, profound, and provocative, and coaching executives on the shadow they cast, often unconsciously, on the organisations they lead. She is motivated by the courage and openness her clients show as they explore how their own behaviour and shapes a culture which either supports or detracts from the performance of their organisation.

Carolyn spent some years in Australia where she pioneered work in leadership, values and culture through her company, Corporate Vision. The firm was in the BRW 100 fastest growing Australian companies five years in a row, and her achievements led her to being a finalist Telstra Businesswoman of the Year in 1998, and Australian Business Women’s Hall of Fame in the same year.
