Biography

Catherine has 25 years’ experience in delivering global change. She has successfully led and delivered programmes in training, culture change and organizational effectiveness across Asia, Australia and Europe.

Catherine has worked across a number of industries including Legal, Professional Services and Technology. Her extensive experience in technology has given her first-hand experience in the changing cultures within this industry and became the Head of Culture and Change for Deloitte IT, North and South Europe in her previous role.

Prior to this she was selected by Deloitte's UK CIO and her peers to fulfill the role as Head of Digital Empowerment for Deloitte. Catherine designed and delivered a culture change programme that was set-up to improve engagement and embed values through behaviour over a two year period - the survey results turned around these scores from the lowest to the highest in the firm within only one year.

Working with both internal teams and delivering to clients she has seen both sides of the table and uses this experience to see when a culture change programme will be successful after the consultant leaves. Like embarking on a fitness programme, starting it is as important as making it a habit.
An example of one of these culture change transformations was a programme for newly formed cross-border teams across Europe and India. Focussing on the research and behaviours of country cultures, personality types and firms values, this approach created an inclusive programme that has now become standard practice and operationalised.

She is an expert facilitator and her mantra is ‘energising people to embrace change’. She believes energy, empathy and effectiveness are what she is famous for.

Catherine is about passionate encouraging more girls in STEM careers and was recognised as Highly commended in 2018 as the Mentor of the year, in the UK Social Mobility awards as well as receiving an internal impact award at Deloitte for 'making an impact that matters to society'. She has delivered workshops and inspirational talks to well over 3000 girls, including being a keynote speaker for Women in Leadership at Durham University and Blackheath High School. She was very proud when a girl gave her a hand-written note saying “you built my confidence and inspired me to be an engineer”.

Catherine is a bit of a creative too - she paints portraits in oils and has illustrated a children’s book called ‘My Cat Called Red’. She’s learning to sew and has made a few outfits, but wouldn’t want anyone to look too closely at the stitching! She loves being able to go out to restaurants with friends again.
