team
“Our core philosophy is to share our knowledge and experience to help corporations build, drive and manage their own corporate culture. We will teach others to fish, rather than sell food. We want to pass on 25 years of experience in culture to a group of internal leaders and external culture services providers in a way that makes culture do-able. This is a “no magic” firm, and we will make what we do and know accessible and achievable.
Our commitment is to ensure that our skills and knowledge is passed on to our clients. We believe the client’s success, and therefore ours, comes from the internal resources being able to lead, manage and support culture themselves. We want to empower this internal team to be seen as culture champions inside their organization. A strong internal team may choose to use external consultants for some elements of their culture change process. But this choice is best made from a position of knowledge and strength.
We choose partners and staff members in the Walking the Talk network who share this philosophy. Please give us feedback if you ever experience us veering away from this approach. We do believe external culture consultants and service providers have a major role in helping companies develop great culture. But our experience shows that the best result comes when a knowledgeable internal team leads the culture plan, hiring consciously at the right timely the best culture service provider to help them. It requires a special kind of inner self confidence to encourage a client to only use external resources when there is a role which really is best done by an outsider. We believe this approach will avoid the type of consultant dependence which not only leads to large fees but also does not lead to sustainable culture change.
Our aspiration is that clients and partners feel part of the Walking the Talk community and share our vision that, through improving the way we manage culture, we can lift the standards of organizational behavior for the benefit of all stakeholders.
